Tehran: Members of the Iranian Parliament chanted “Thank you, Pakistan” in recognition of Islamabad’s support amid tensions with Israel.

During his address to Parliament, Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian praised Pakistan’s solidarity, prompting lawmakers to raise slogans in appreciation. Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf condemned Israeli attacks on civilians and urged national unity against the enemy.

Parliamentarians also paid tribute to Iranian commanders, personnel, and nuclear scientists killed in recent Israeli strikes.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on the Iranian president to express full support, calling Israel’s aggression a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and international law. He affirmed Iran’s right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Pakistan also raised the issue at the UN Security Council, where its envoy, Munir Akram, warned that Israel’s continued aggression poses a grave threat to regional peace and stability.
